How do the Services work?

Initial Consultation: Cate will have a FREE 15-minute phone consultation to discuss your needs and explain the pricing structure. If Cate can assist you and you choose to engage her services, an appointment will be scheduled.

Appointment Locations: Appointments can take place in the comfort of your own home or at another location that suits you. Phone and Zoom appointments are also available.

For Younger Generations Seeking Guidance: If you are seeking guidance regarding an older person who may need assistance, Cate will organise an appointment to discuss your situation in detail. If the older individual is open to exploring the services provided by Ageing with Choices, a follow-up appointment will be scheduled with them.

Home Care Services: Accessing home care services requires multiple appointments due to assessments required by third party agencies. Cate will help you navigate this process, assist in choosing a service provider, facilitate the introduction, and ensure the services are implemented according to your needs.

Aged Care Placement: Aged care placement typically involves several discussions with Cate and, if desired, with your family. This process may require facility visits to assess your preferences and suitability. Cate will be there every step of the way, helping with paperwork, and supporting you through the admission stage.

Wellness Conversations: Wellness conversations can take place one-to-one or in a group setting. A typical plan involves a series of 6-10 appointments, generally on a weekly basis, although more can be scheduled as needed. This service is ideal for individuals who don’t socialise frequently or find large group activities overwhelming. Ageing with Choices can create conversation groups with other clients or, if you prefer, you can invite your friends to join a group with you.

End of Life Conversations: End of life conversation can be scheduled based on your needs, starting with a minimum 1 hour. You may choose as many appointments as you feel necessary. These conversations are for those who wish to reflect on their life, share their end of life wishes, or address unfinished business. Some individuals find that their loved ones are uncomfortable with such discossions. Cate is honoured to facilitate these conversations and provide a compassionate, respectful space. Please note that Ageing with Choices supports living and does not provide assistance related to ending life other than through the voluntary assisted dying process. Cate is understanding and empathetic towards those who feel they have lived their life fully and are ready to discuss those feelings. Cate abides by all current laws in relation to voluntary assisted dying.

End of Life Doula Services: If you wish to work with Cate as your end of life doula, an initial consultation will be scheduled to discuss your specific needs and preferences. Based on this discussion, a client agreement will be created, outlining the areas where you require support. This agreement is flexible and can be modified by either party as circumstances change. During this consultation, we will also review the available service packages and associated fees.
